Personal Thoughts, Musings & Precis.
I believe we are ALL little shards of GOD. Most of us have forgotten this, due to societal, parental & media programming. Consciousness, life will leave us, and we shall be no more. Our duty is to become in actuality what we are in potentiality. And that is gonna be bloody hard work. Which is why most folks aren’t even trying, never mind doing it.
“There is a time in every man’s education when he arrives at the conviction that envy is ignorance; that imitation is suicide…God will not have his work made manifest by cowards. A man is relieved and gay when he has put his heart into his work and done his best; but what he has said or done otherwise, shall give him no peace.”
“Trust thyself: every heart vibrates to that iron string.”
“Accept the place the divine providence has found for you, the society of your contemporaries, the connection of events. Great men have always done so, and confided themselves childlike to the genius of their age, betraying their perception that the absolutely trustworthy was seated at their heart, working through their hands, predominating in all their being. And we are now men, and must accept in the highest mind the same transcendent destiny; and not minors or invalids in a protected corner, not cowards fleeing before a revolution, but guides, redeemers, and benefactors, obeying the Almighty effort, and advancing on Chaos and the Dark.”
I feel more content when I am advancing, making progress, becoming a better version of me. I am a genius, not a coward.
“These are the voices which we hear in solitude, but they grow faint and inaudible as we enter into the world.”
Make time to Meditate, Journal, be in nature, be alone, free yourself from the constant distractions of this ever connected world. And listen carefully to yourself.
Or you could claim you don’t have time, whilst wasting your precious life on BIG MEDIA’s distractions. They are stealing your life, hacking your dopamine addictions.
I have realised that I have great plans for my days in the early morning, as I Wim Hoff breathe, listen to stuff like Ralph, do my Affirmations. When I fail to follow thru with those plans, it chips away a little at my self esteem. When I get shit done, it lifts my self esteem a little. +1 or -1. Little Victories.
You are the average of the five people with whom you spend the most time. The most important of these you need to befriend is your Highest Self (GodShard) and your FUTURE SELF.
“Whoso would be a man must be a nonconformist.”
“No law can be sacred to me but that of my nature.”
Krishnamurti- “It is no measure of health to be well-adjusted to a profoundly sick society.”
To be self-reliant, we must be willing to not conform. What matters most is the integrity of your own mind. Or your Gut Instinct. Learn to trust & follow.
“For nonconformity the world whips you with its displeasure.”
Even those who love you, whip you! “Get back in your box, Boy! Stop deviating, however positive those deviations may be!”
“And truly it demands something godlike in him who has cast off the common motives of humanity, and has ventured to trust himself for a taskmaster.”
Don’t get back in the box. Be a Health Deviant. Be an Iconoclast. What’s one little thing you can do to trust yourself just a little more today?
“What I must do is all that concerns me, not what the people think.”
“This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness. It is the harder, because you will always find those who think they know what your duty is better than you know it. It is easy in the world to live after the world’s opinion; it is easy in solitude to live after our own; but the great man is he who in the midst of the crowd keeps with perfect sweetness the independence of solitude.”
Be an Iconoclast. Be prepared to think for yourself. Step out of the Echo Chamber of modern society, by prioritising quiet, One-on-One time with yourself, meditation, nature, etc. Then stick to your beliefs, tame your amygdala, and refuse to conform to that “sick society”. Then build trust with others so that these ideas can spread & take root.
A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds…
…adored by little statesmen and philosophers and divines. With consistency a great soul has simply nothing to do. He may as well concern himself with his shadow on the wall. Speak what you think now in hard words, and to-morrow speak what to-morrow thinks in hard words again, though it contradict every thing you said to-day.—’Ah, so you shall be sure to be misunderstood.’—Is it so bad, then, to be misunderstood? Pythagoras was misunderstood, and Socrates, and Jesus, and Luther, and Copernicus, and Galileo, and Newton, and every pure and wise spirit that ever took flesh. To be great is to be misunderstood.”
Retain flexibility, get started, experiment, be very willing to fail, be like a missile, plane or boat, with a destination in mind but constantly correcting course.
“The voyage of the best ship is a zigzag line of a hundred tacks.
An upward trajectory to your graph is all that matters. Little Victories are cumulative & compound, like interest. Greatness appeals to the future, what future is pulling you?
We cannot know our true potential, but we can be fairly sure we are not hitting it, as there are no perfect human beings. To help break negative cycles, try Richard Wiseman’s The As If Principle. He says: “It might be helpful to think of your old personality as being on vacation for two weeks, so you have an opportunity to act like a different person. It is important, however, that you play out your new role twenty-four hours a day, even when you’re alone. The As If principle will cause you to feel like a new person, and the new you will soon become part of your actual identity.”
