Flanged Immersion Heater

Do you want your Flanged Immersion Heater in a coupla weeks, rather than a coupla months?

FFY RangeDIN/DN HeatersPN Heaters

Are you even more desperate than that, and need them in a week? We can do that too. But I will have to introduce you to what we are now more politely* calling the “Distress Price” which is basically a 50% premium added to the standard price, for the privilege of jumping the queue. (When I ask “When do you NEED them by?”, “Yesterday!” is no longer a comedy answer! Edit 9/11/23 “The day before yesterday!” did make me chuckle tho!)

Do you want your heater to be British manufactured, to the highest possible standards, by highly trained people, paid proper wages to cover their British cost of living?

Then, with the whole of the WorldWideWeb to choose from, you have found the right place?

Whatever your Flange Immersion Heater needs, call Jamie to discuss them, on 01827 215684, and we will get you sorted with bespoke, high quality heaters, on an honest leadtime, that suits you.

Your first port of call should probably be our FFY Range 12-54kW on 168mm Ø X 12mm AISI316 FLANGE 8 x 10mm HOLES 146mm PCD?

Or our DIN Heaters? DN50  DN80 DN125.

Or our PN Rated Flanged Immersion Heaters.

Typical Flange Dimensions.

As with pipes (hence the British Standard Pipe Legacy), it was necessary to standardise the dimensions of the various flange types depending upon requirements. Standardisation also facilitates easier communication between relevant parties (designer, manufacturer etc.), with a reduced likelihood of error. Typical Flange Dimensions

To prevent any potential confusions, the designer indicates the type of flange, its size, pressure class, schedule, and the standard to which it is to conform.

In Europe we conform to DIN Standards (Deutsches Institut für Normung – German Institute for Standardization). Also known as just DN. Here at Immersion Heaters UK, we tend to stick to DN50, DN80 & DN125.

In the United States, flange standards are set by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), American National Standards Institute (ANSI), and American Water Works Association (AWWA).

These standards are NOT interchangeable.

DIN Flange Measurements

DIN flange measurements use the metric system, including millimeters (rather than inches) for length and bar (instead of PSI) as the unit of pressure, as is the international standard. Required measurements for DIN flanges include the Inner Diameter (ID) and Outer Diameter (OD). Also consider the number of bolt holes necessary, as well as the measurement from the center of one bolt hole, directly across to the center of the adjacent bolt hole.

Then, refer to the corresponding measurement chart to determine the appropriate flange size based on the measurements. A DIN measurement chart may include a comparison of inches to millimeter measurements, but the physical measurement isn’t the only consideration when choosing the appropriate flange. Keep flange pressure rating requirements in mind, as well.

DIN and Pressure Rating

DN standards use Pressure Nominale (PN) to designate a pressure rating—for example, PN16 is suitable for use up to 16 bar at ambient temperature.

DIN Fittings and Accessories

DN flanges match pipe ends that comply with the same standard, but accessories and fittings must also be the correct size. For a leakproof seal, ensure your gaskets are within the specified dimensional tolerances for use with DIN fittings.
