Hazardous Area Heating Solutions
Equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres shall comply with the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU (ATEX) concerning equipment and protective systems designed for use in hazardous areas.
In locations where explosive atmospheres may occur, electric heaters shall be equipped with explosion-proof terminal enclosures and designed to provide effective protection against ignition sources. Typical applications include process, handling and storage areas in the food, chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
A hazardous area is defined as a location in which gases, vapours or mists may be present in sufficient quantities to create a flammable or explosive atmosphere. Our certification covers equipment designed for ambient temperatures ranging from –60°C to +60°C.
