All equipment intended for use in potentially explosive atmospheres must comply with Directive 2014/34/EU, which harmonizes the laws of the Member States regarding equipment and protective systems designed for operation in explosive environments.
Consequently, heating units installed in hazardous locations must be equipped with explosion-proof terminal boxes and provide effective protection against ignition sources. Such classified areas are commonly found in production, handling, and storage facilities within the food, chemical, petrochemical, and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
A hazardous area is defined as any location where gases, vapours, or mists may be present in sufficient concentrations to create a flammable or explosive atmosphere. Our certification covers equipment designed for ambient temperatures ranging from –60°C to +60°C.
At Resistencias Tope, S.A., we design and manufacture heating systems for liquids and gases intended for operation in environments with a risk of fire or explosion. These products are certified in accordance with the following marking:
II 2G Ex db IIC T1…T6 Gb
…ensuring safe and reliable performance in demanding hazardous-area applications.
