Briefest Summary.

  • The basic logic of the book is that “You can render to God and humanity no greater service than to make the most of yourself.”
  • Echoes Maslow, who said “What one can be, one must be!”
  • To realistically do this, you can’t be in poverty. Poverty is desperate & depressing. Ghandi & Mother Theresa had the backing of seriously rich people to help them get their stuff done. They may have renounced material pleasures, but they did not reject money because of all the good things they knew could be achieved with it as a tool. “Get rich, that is the best way you can help the poor.” Wattles.
  • It is your logical & moral obligation, if you want to do good in this world, to acquire the monetary freedom to do so. It’s what God wants.
  • Seeds produce more seeds. Life, by living, multiplies itself. Be the change you want to see in the world.
  • You are to become a creator, not a competitor; you are going to get what you want, but in such a way that when you get it, every other man will have more than he has now. A rising tide lifts all ships. Win-Win.
  • Do what you love for something bigger than yourself.
  • Live with gratitude. You can’t be grateful & depressed at the same time.
  • Embrace the challenges in life, they forge us stronger. Be grateful for them too. We are a result of the difficulties in our lives, not the ease & comfort.
  • When you have vision & faith in something bigger guiding all this, everything you do becomes a prayer. Impress God all the time, rather than just on a Sabbath.
  • Take Action. Now & forever. Wattles says: “Do not give your creative impulse to Original Substance (God, Infinite Divine Mind, call it what you will), and then sit down and wait for results; if you do, you will never get them. Act now. There is never any time but now, and there never will be any time but now. If you are ever to begin to make ready for the reception of what you want, you must begin now.” “More than fill our current position”
  • “If a doubt comes, cast it aside as a sin.” Wattles
